to the Loire regions
is a horticulturalist by trade, his nursery being situated on the main
Reuilly to Méreau road, which is where he sells a good deal of his wine.
He owns around three hectares of vines, all of which are located on the
same south-west facing slope in Lazenay and rents a parcel of Pinot Gris
within Reuilly. The vines are maintained by Claude Lafond’s viticultural
team, although he uses his own labourers from the nursery to harvest his
Pinot Noir. Until the 2010 vintage the wines were made in the Chai de
Reuilly by Lafond, but he has since defected next door and from 2011 the
wines will be made in Lafond’s new facility.
There are three wines, one expression of each variety. The 2009s (tasted
at the Chai de Reuilly in June 2010) were all decent, although the Pinot
Noir was not particularly inspiring.
