Domaine
Dyckerhoff
Although
Christian Dyckerhoff was born in the Berry (his father has a 200 hectare
cereal farm), he has only been making wine since 2004, having spent
several years living in Alsace which is where he met and married Bénédicte,
who originates from Ribeauvillé. Although they operate their business
from an ancient grange in the
village of Charost (they receive their private clients here as well as
raising trout in purpose-build ponds), the couple are members of the Chai
de Reuilly and their five hectares of grapes are vinified here.
The vineyards are all to the north of Reuilly and based on the three lieux-dits
of ‘Les Conges’, Les Enaudes’ and ‘La Raie’ with the
majority of their plantings dedicated to Sauvignon, complimented by one
hectare of Pinot Noir and half a hectare of Pinot Gris. The vines are
between three and twenty years old.
There is a single wine made from each of the three varieties, with
examples from the 2009 vintage (tasted at the Chai de Reuilly in May 2010)
all being very good ambassadors for the appellation.
