Jacques
Siret is a céréalier-vigneron,
growing 370 hectares of sunflowers on the plains of the Champagne-Berrichonne
some 20 kilometres from Quincy. He diversified into wine in 1995, starting
with a modest 1.5 hectares. His holdings now extend to six hectares in the
lieux-dits of Les Crèves Coeurs,
Les Brosses and La Pointe. The vines age between 5 and 35 years old.
Siret produces one wine which is vinified at the Maison Blanche cellar in
Quincy; the 2009 vintage (tasted in June 2010) was perfectly credible and
a good ambassador for the appellation. His son, Vincent Siret-Courtaud,
also runs his own domaine from the same address (see separate entry).
