Eustache
Poilasne, Clos des Perrières Poilasne,
like his father, was a vigneron all
his working life. He owned and lived within Le Clos des Perrières, a
walled vineyard situated within the village
of Savennières. Although he tended his own vines, he also worked as mâitre
de chai at Domaine aux Moines and was retained by Madame Laroche when
they bought the property in 1981. Indeed, the connection between the
Poilasnes and the Domaine aux Moines goes back several decades as it was
Eustache’s father who planted the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon
vineyard in front of the house at Domaine aux Moines in the 1920s. He
withdrew from his own vineyard in 1991, selling to Pierre-Yves Tijou at Château
Soucherie. He died at the age of 81 in 2004. |
