This
inexpensive City centre hotel is just opposite the chateau. It comes with
a modern lobby and small, but clean and serviceable rooms. (Last stayed: 04/05)

Probably
the most celebrated place to eat in the city. The décor is rich with Art
Deco tiles and the menu plays heavily on fish and seafood supplied direct
from the Atlantic coast. Needless to say the wine list is strongly centred
on Muscadet. (Last

To
be fair, this small town is situated on the south bank of the
Loire
and it’s a good twenty minute drive into the heart of the Muscadet
region from here. However, the restaurant is a one star Michelin and
specialises in local ingredients, with some, like sandre
being landed from the river below. The wine list offers some older
vintages of Muscadet to experiment with, but has a good representation of
wines from along the
Loire
. There are seven well kept, modern rooms, with access to a garden and
swimming pool.

This
small restaurant is right in the central square in Vallet and a great
place for lunch. The menu is limited but up to the minute seasonal. The
quality is excellent and prices are modest. Service from the chatty madame
however can be a little slow. There is a small but well chosen wine list.
